Hello I am working with the Executive Child Theme. I am trying to get the responsive slider to display on my home page, like the demo site. When a client pulls up my site the slider is the first thing I want them to see.

Currently I have my static front page set to my Welcome Page - which is the first page that shows up and my posts page are set as my home page, which has the slider.

Is there any way for my home page and my landing page to be one and the same with the slider ?

    my website is http://marquardtinc.com

I feel like I am missing something in telling my child theme to recognize my home page to put the slider, as opposed to the recent posts page.

    Thanks

The home page is widgetized and other pages are not so you'll need to add a widget area to the page you want to display the slider which is?

    Post a url please.

You can use one of these code snippets for creating the widget area using a conditional tag http://designsbynickthegeek.com/tutorials/add-widgeted-sidebar

Hey Brad I appreciate the link I went to the tutorial but Im not that advanced of a user and it was very confusing to me. I know some code but still learning a lot . It took me an hour to figure out how to even get the slider going

    So you worked it out?

You're using the welcome page as your home page and have the slider on your home page.

Do you want the slider on the welcome page also?

If so, where exactly do you want it?

    Hey

If possible I want the slider on the home page and I also want the Home page to be the static front page instead of the Welcome Page

Just like the have in the demo - if I need to take out the home or welcome page I can do that. I actually created a blank Home page because thats where I wanted the slider to be

Thanks again for your help. I love this stuff but there is a HUGE learning curve 🙂

Go to Settings > Reading and change the settings to display posts on front page then drag the slider into the home top featured widget area.

You can then populate the other other widgets for the homepage.
