Genesis Featured Widget Amplified Styling Help

Hey everyone. I am really stuck at the moment. I want to use the featured posts/widget amplified plugin to show my three most current blog posts next to a subscription form near the bottom of my home page.

My initial thought was that i could do a one third column for the form and a two thirds colum on the right for the posts. I am very new to design so please be gentle on me lol.

anyway, the plugin outputs the posts in a vertical layout. This would be nice in a sidebar but I would like them layed out horizontal in a bar near the bottom of the home page. Any help is greatly appreciated.

You can add the following to your styles.css. make sure to replace .class_name with the name of the section you will be putting the widgets into such as footer-widgets, or home-top, or home-middle etc.

This will display the widgets side by side.

.class_name .widget {
float: left;
padding: 0 2.8%;
width: 50%;
}

.class_name .widget:nth-of-type(2n+1) {
clear: left;
}

I dont understand the second section of code you posted

also, the way I am entering in the widget is by "shortcode any widget" is there another way to enter the widget in my code?
