Anyone know why if I just want to get a list of post titles out of the Genesis - Featured Posts Widget, it looks different from the other widgets, including Recent Posts, Pages, etc.? I would like to use the FPW in conjunction with other widgets, but its styling is totally different and kind of cryptic to figure out how to straighten out. I have had this issue with several themes now. What is the difference in styling between, say the titles in Recent Posts and the titles in FPW? Is there any way I can easily point to the Recent Posts title styles to work in a level playing field? Any help would be greatly appreciated. I have played a little with it, but you can see it at http://www.scribbleambidextro.us/?cat=7. Thanks!

Uses a different class with different CSS.

You can modify either using a filter

    Or

Create a custom version of either which uses the same class as the other.

    Hi Brad,

I have actually modified the CSS a bit to get it to look how it does now, but there's just so much there. I'm not sure what a filter is, though: Would that apply the styling of one element to override the styling of another?

    Thanks!

The filter can be used on either to modify the default output and return the class from the other widget so they're styled the same.

When I Google CSS Filter (and the like), I am only finding information about filters being applied to images. I think what you are describing is what I would like to do, but I'm not sure how to find it if "filter" isn't what I should be researching. Again many thanks.
