Genesis Featured Posts Alternative

Is there an alternative plugin to Genesis Featured Posts that will allow me to specify exact posts to show?

I already have latest Posts showing with Featured Posts widget

However I would also like to add another widget underneath with most popular posts and be able to specify each post

I have found the Genesis Sandbox - Featured Content, which seems to do what I am after.

Specify posts by ID

However it says it's over 3 years since it was updated.

Is this ok or anyone know of a better plugin?
