Hi, I want to add custom post types to the Genesis Featured Post widget. I see @nickthegeek has a plugin for that. However, what do I need to do if I simply want to hard code it in?

Jo Waltham has modified the Genesis Featured Post widget for Custom Post Types. You can see her work here on GitHub

You can also use the Genesis Sandbox Featured Content Widget

I'll give that a shot. I had found another way, but it involved pulling a gist form GitHub and creating a whole other plugin. That's a bit beyond my scope. Let's see if these are more manageable. Thanks.

Oh, so I see these are actually both plugins. I take it there's not simply way of modifying the widget itself right? Without modifying the core? @Marcy

I ended up installing the Sandbox plugin. Worth it I think. Very nice plugin and it works perfectly.
