    No matter how many times I try to match the Content Character Limit to the number of excerpt characters I want to display from the page, it never matches up. It's either not enough or too much. I tried left aligning the text instead of center aligning, adding multiple   spaces, dots, nothing works.

    I contacted the author of the theme, and she told me to use text widgets instead of Genesis Featured Page widgets if I want to have more control over the content that is displaying under the image. That worked! For whatever reason, the Featured Page widget rounds the number of characters up or down.
