I am wanting to create a simple design similar to this. Not exactly mind you but what I like is the full width header, navigation and footer. Before I dive in and possibly butcher my child theme I'm creating, I was hoping someone could give me some feedback on how I could create this in my own child theme?

    Hi,

Its fairly simple to achieve, you might want to check out this tutorial on Carrie Dils blog.

I did that. When I added that to the function.php in my child theme, then my page disappeared. Weird.

I have the Prose theme and I followed the tutorial Stewart. It indeed moves my header above but the width stays the same. I've tried changing header to 100% and even using min-width. Nothing. If I increase width it adds it to the right of the header. Any ideas? I appreciate the help.

Ok, I just installed this and haven't done anything to it. The code added from the Carrie Dils tutorial did work in moving the header up. But for the life of me I cannot figure out how to make the header and footer 100% width. I tried adding CSS to the Custom Edit but it didn't work.

    Thank you!

I got the header fixed up. I tried the same thing with the navigation menu and if you look at it you can see what I mean. I would like the navigation below the header full width, and the navigation in the wrap to be removed. I've been at it for a few hours and tried many things....I'm sure it's simple. But I need help 🙂

    Hi,

Looks like you have your nav displaying twice, but to fix the bottom nav you need to look for #wrap in your style.css (wish i could be more specific but your css file is minified so i can't tell you what line to change) and remove the padding and margin elements, these are stopping you nav going full width.
