Thanks braddalton and I'm looking into that plug-in. But I'm already familiar with the Genesis Slider, how it works, etc. Can you help with my original question?

Please copy the code from the view raw link and paste it at the end of your child themes functions.php file using a text editor like Notepad++.

Sorry about the delay in response.
I would like to have in Home - Top. Or just create another widget area.
But I do recall in the previous version of Lifestyle, I had to add some code somewhere else in the functions file.

We live the lifestyles that we promote.™@braddalton I went with the standard slider position on the Stevenlatino site. But know I'm working on another that I'd really like to use a full-width slider.
I've added the code you supplied to another site (same theme, etc.), see the widget area in the dashboard, added the Genesis – Responsive Slider to that widget area, changed the slider settings to the correct dimensions, but it isn’t showing on the home page.

<div class="full-width" class="widget-area">in your source?If not, you may need to tweak your conditional checks, as it is a sign the test fails and doesn't actually output the widget. Perhaps is_home() instead of is_front_page()
If you do see the markup something else is wrong with the slider itself. You've probably checked, but just make sure you are telling the slider to actually display something.
I can second Brad's advice of using Soliloquy though, it is a fantastic plugin. I'm actually using it for a full width / size landing slider and it is fast as could be.
I would recommend Soliloquy and hook it in directly as it loads faster that way.
@braddalton I looked into that just a little and it looks like a great plugin. But I dont know how to "hook it in directly". Also, can it be configured to automatically use the Featured image or will I have to copy and paste code like I used for the Dynamic Content Gallery?

Because the site is under dev, I had a coming soon plugin activated. I deactivated so you could take a look.

.site-containerand/or.contentbecause the slider is contained within them and they are 1140px and 800px respective.But ... that will impact your sidebar, so keep that in mind. It will push it down to below your posts, I suspect.
It would probably be better for you to use Brad's link and set soliloquy outside the structural wraps. You'll have less modifications ahead.
You can use the Genesis Hooks Plugin or modify functions.php per Brad's instructions. Carrie Dils has a good primer to get you started on moving things outside the wraps.

A quick glance at the "lite/free" version of soliloquy, I didn't see a way to automatically pull the image to be displayed. For myself and my clients, things have to be very easy for them. With the Genesis slider, all the have to to do select a featured image and its done. Even the DCG could be used full width without too much difficulty. http://zakelritefishing.com/
It seems now with all the latest updates, even just slightly customizing the themes (full width slider) is getting more complicated, less user friendly for non-coders like myself. Maybe not, just better coding,.. I don't have any idea what structural wraps are,.. Honestly wouldn't mind learning a better way to do something (soliloquy),.. Just wasn't planing on learning all of the coding part.

The structural wraps in Genesis, you can think of as walls / containers holding everything nicely in their place so they don't spill out everywhere. Because of this the responsive slider won't expand past them - if you make them wider the slider can be wider too.
Soliloquy is really drag and drop and developer version for unlimited sites gets you everything and is a great investment.
In your case then i think the Genesis Slider is better because its designed to pull in the featured image from blog posts and does a good job at that. I don't think Soliloquy does that but may be wrong. You will need to create a widget area for it.
