I'm creating a custom child theme. I have added the standard Genesis footer widgets through add_theme_support.
But when the first footer widget is empty and the second or third are filled, the footer widgets are still not shown.

    How can I fix this?

    Hi,

unless you want to rewrite the Genesis Footer Widget logic, you can't "fix it". 😉

The workaround is to put an empty text widget in the first footer widget area.

    Hi,

    thank you for your answer.

Rewriting the logic will be too much effort when there is such a simple workaround. Will do that!
