I've checked my client's site for unclosed tags and mistyped sidebar or main content tags and can't find any that aren't closed but her footer is appearing at the bottom of her sidebar. Any thoughts? Things I should try?

    the site is: http://findinghomeonline.com/

this site is on the current Genesis and WordPress 3.4 (this footer issue appeared before the 3.5 update and she doesn't want to update right now because of potential issues with 3.5). The child theme is vintage.

A quick check with the html validation shows: over 200 errors, if you check the list towards the end you will see there are several unclosed divs, indicating that there are errors in your templates or other places where you insert code.
