    Hi,

I'm working on this site: http://suchagoodeater.com/

I only see a way to include categories on the Foodie Pro Widget. But I would like to include all the categories except for the Recipe category. My client just wants those in that category to show on the Recipes page.

How do I exclude the Recipes category on the Home Page feed?

    Thanks!
    Kathy

From the home page feed or the Foodie Pro widget?

You can't exclude a category from the widget unless you rewrite the widget.

To exclude a category from the home page loop, you can use pre_get_posts.

Thanks! I added the code to my functions.php and used "17" as indicated to be the category ID. I added a post and selected "Recipes" and it showed on the home page.... Can you see the code below and let me know if I am placing something incorrectly and why it's still feeding into the home page....

Are you referring to the loop or the featured posts widget?

It's feeding through the Featured Post Widget. So I guess that means I have to alter the widget...?? :/

Yes, or ask them to add a filter for the $query_args.

Either that or a setting to exclude category i.d's.

It might still work if you rename front-page.php to home.php and use pre_get_posts.
