    Is there anyway to pull the featured post used in the widget by the post ID?
    I searched here and didn't see it anywhere.

    Ok, it looks like the plugin below may be what I need, however it hasn't been updated in over a year, does anyone know if it works with Genesis 2 and the current version of WordPress? Based on the support it looks like it does.
