Did you try and copy code from Genesis to your child theme?
All functions need to use unique function names.
What are you trying to do because normally you can use hooks and filters in a SP child theme and there's no need to use any code from Genesis.
Nope, I just bought Genesis and I activated the sample theme and it shows me this error and in the footer it's showing me this error "content/themes/genesis/lib/structure/sidebar.php:26) in /home/ilovelem/public_html/katyperrynow.com/wp-content/themes/genesis/sidebar.php on line 30".
I got it install in my other website and still not working for me and I didn't make the theme visible for the public to view it.

Sure, I actually did contacted them and awaiting for their reply, you can check out the live site here: http://maiamitchellweb.com/ - I have deactivate all the plugins and still the same.
The support team solved the problem 🙂
The support asked to re download the files and it worked.
