Can anyone figure out why the fonts are kind of garbled and barely legible on Chrome and Firefox not just fine on IE?

I've searched Google and tried various things to no avail.

The temporary URL while under development is at http://site.tickzoom.com

Different fonts rendering differently across browsers; I'm only seeing marginal difference between IE & Chrome - it's definitely not garbled or barely legible on my monitor in Chrome.

No font is going to look the same in all browsers, but if you are not happy with the way it looks, you might want to consider choosing another font family.

Well it seems the problem is more than just my own website. Because even your response, Susan, has funny looking text here on chrome. I suppose it's a Chrome problem or PC problem. I tried rebooting and the fonts still look the same.

There was another issue recently who had similar issues, but it was on every computer on his work network. He didn't have the issue when he checked it from home... (I'll see if I can find the thread...)

I've noticed similar problems while using the Macintosh version of the Chrome web browser. On some sites, type looks like gibberish and unreadable – doesn't even look like type characters.

The other day I did some investigation, and found that the problem is most likely caused by either corrupted fonts or font conflicts, usually seeming to involve Helvetica and Arial – but no one seems to be able to totally pin it down.

The forum threads I found date back a few years, right up to present day – and so it seems that Google has still not figured out the problem.

If you go to Google and search for:
    chrome weird characters
you will find lots of information.

Thanks Moody. I decided that this is mainly a Chrome problem but not on every PC that we have. It's awfully annoying but on the good side, my skills at reading gibberish are improving every day!
