Executive Pro theme: Contact Form in Post Excerpt on Slider

[keirsten]

Hi All
Still struggling with putting a contact form into the post excerpt box on the Genesis Responsive Slider. Does anyone have any ideas on how to do this?
Thanks

[Carlo]

Hi Keirsten. Can you post a link to your site, so it's clearer what you need?

Hi Carlo

The site is still practically in demo mode (the slider is the first part I am trying to get fixed in - seaventuresdive.com/v2) - so it might be easier to refer to the Executive Pro demo - there is a slider at the top where you can add in a post excerpt and it appears as a black box on the left hand side of the slider:

http://my.studiopress.com/themes/executive/#demo-full

But I would like to make it look like this:

http://www.mrandmrssmith.com

with a contact form/check availability option on the top slider in place of the post excerpt.

I have tried adding the form in to the post but it won't show up when I use short form code or if I use the long code it sees it as text.

Thanks for any help!

Hi again Keirsten.

Try adding the below code to the top of the front-page.php template (i.e. directly below the <?php line) and using the shortcode in the post.

add_filter( 'the_excerpt', function() {
	return do_shortcode( get_the_content() );
} );

It might have unintended side effects but see how that works.

Hi Carlo - great thanks - will give it a go.

Perfect - that worked - thanks so much!

Hi - I am now having the same problem with trying to adapt the form that is in the slider to a widget box in the side bar. Do you know if there is something I can do for this?
Thanks

[keirsten]

Apologies - problem solved!
