    I am troubleshooting an issue with my site which is built on Exec Pro theme. The main issue is on NEW iPad/iPhones which is not displaying the site full screen in Portrait mode. Other mobile devices display ok 99% of the time.

    I have tweaked the css a little bit but I don't want to be going too far outside of the main structure of the theme.
    in the Exec Pro theme, the css default code is:

    .site-container {
    margin: 0 auto;
    max-width: 1140px; }

    and I have adjusted this in my custom.css to 100% and made the other elements to be a max-width of 1140px; as follows:

    .site-container {
    max-width: 100%; }
    .site-inner {
    max-width: 1140px; }
    .site-header {
    max-width: 1140px;}

    so that the header/slider elements are full width. If I try to use just 'width' the responsiveness of the site is broken, so to ensure I keep it responsive, I have to specify max-width.

    However in the Exec Pro theme, they have in-line styling that adds a min-width of 1280px and I am wondering if this is what is effecting the resizing issue on the newer iPad devices in portrait mode?

    Can anyone suggest is simple CSS way of me dealing with the issue of my site not displaying full screen on iPad devices in portrait mode?

    Thanks for your help!

    Inline styling will override your external style sheet, so you need to remove it to get the responsive to work correctly.

    Thanks for your reply. I was surprised to discover the inline styling via firebug which showed this coming from the Exec Pro child theme css. I don't usually mess with the child theme settings and instead use my own custom.css to make any adjustments - so I don't accidentally screw things up with the main theme structure.

    So, how would I remove the theme's inline styling - would I need to add something in my custom.css as follows:

    .site-container {
    /*min-width: 1280px*/
    }

    to cancel out their inline sytling?

    Thanks for your help.....

    No, that's not how it works, the browser will read the stylesheet first and then the inline styling and the last one takes precedence. You will have to remove it from the html.
