Hi all, thought I had the solution figured out all by myself. But apparently I didn't.

As you can see on http://www.dutchreview.com (Metro theme) I'm using the featured posts widget in order to make up our lay-out. We've just introduced a new segment/catogory called Daily Dutch News (2nd widget) and we were using 'DutchReviews latest' in order to show of our latest regular articles. So far so good. The problem is that I don't want the Daily News articles shown in the DutchReview latest segment. I thought I could solve this by selecting 'Hide' - if catogory = Daily Dutch News (I was so pleased when I found this option) But this doesn't work apparently.

So, am I doing something wrong? How do I exclude certain catogories from a featured posts widget with show all posts?

Thanks a lot for the help!

You can exclude categories by using the Genesis Featured Widget Amplified plugin - http://wordpress.org/plugins/genesis-featured-widget-amplified/. You would enter the category id number.

Thanks, looks like a winner. However, it changes all the other widgets (can be fixed in a few minutes though). And where do I find the catogory id number and where do I have to enter it? Sorry, normally I can find my own way with these matters. Thanks for helping!

Install the "Reveal ID" plugin - http://wordpress.org/plugins/reveal-ids-for-wp-admin-25/ . It will add an ID Column to the Categories, Pages and Posts.
