ParticipantHi,
I've been using Essence Pro (1.0.2) since about the beginning of the year but something strange has happened with the widgets.
I noticed on the live page the widget boxes were displaying strangely as they were too long. When I went to inspect the widgets, the customize theme widget area says,
Your theme has 8 widget areas, but this particular page doesn’t display them.
You can navigate to other pages on your site while using the Customizer to view and edit the widgets displayed on those pages.Except, I do have all widgets on the page. Can anyone help me figure that out and perhaps also how to discover why they are suddenly displaying longer than they should?
Any assistance is very much appreciated!

ParticipantHi Anita, thank you for your reply. The widgets are there in the Appearance > Widgets area and they are populated and displaying the information on the site.
The one thing I've done recently is optimised settings for LiteSpeed Cache and added a bit of CSS to assist lazy load images. To troubleshoot, I switched LiteSpeed Cache completely off and tested but it didn't help either the widget issue in customize theme or the widget boxes displaying incorrectly (too long) on the site.

KeymasterLazy Load on the latest update seems to be causing a lot of issues. I've received quite a bit of tickets on my site as well as where I provide theme support and once Lazy load has been deactivated, all was well. Deactivate lazy load, clear your cache and then see if it's there.

ParticipantInteresting outcome: the second issue of the widget areas displaying incorrectly is gone with Lazy Load switched off, but inside Appearance > Customize > Widgets it's still showing the Your theme has 8 widget areas, but this particular page doesn’t display them message.
If it's no harm I can leave it and edit these widgets in the Appearance > Widgets area like we used to do anyway. 🙂

KeymasterRight, but if you go to Appearance > Widgets you should see all of the available widgets. The customizer view will only show you widget areas that are "in-use". If there are any widgets that are empty, the will not show up in the customizer. It's very confusing.

ParticipantIt sure is confusing. I was thinking maybe applying the latest theme update might resolve this. I understand that could remove my customizations but I keep a copy of my CSS and that should be all I've customized.
I hope. 🙂

KeymasterBut you didn't answer my question. When you go to Appearance > Widgets, do you have widgets populated that are not appearing in the Customizer? Or is the issue the fact that you cannot see the
empty
widgets in the Customizer?

ParticipantMy apologies, Anita. I should have had coffee before replying!
In Appearance > Widgets, I see populated widgets that are not appearing in the customizer.
Tried to get a screenshot up here but it wasn't loading.

ParticipantHi Anita, just to let you know it's the LiteSpeed cache plugin causing the problem. Widget areas in customize are normal when I fully disable the plugin, switching it off wasn't enough. Thank you for your help!
