I uploaded a 600x74 px PNG file to be my site header image. I followed the instructions at Victor's website to enlarge the header image, and fooled a bit with some other CSS too. But the site header seems to remain about 300 px wide. It gets no wider or narrow no matter how I fiddle with the CSS.

Specifically I'm fiddling with style.css in the genesis sample theme.

    I adjusted these classes

    .title-area

    .header-image .title-area

    .header-image .site-title > a

By the way, is the website supposed to look different immediately upon changing and saving that file, if I go reload the page?

    Hi

What theme are you using? Link to your site please.

Here's a tutorial which shows you how to change the code to match the dimensions of your header image.

You'll need to change both the PHP and CSS.

Also, you might need to clear caching.

Did you clear your caches - site and server? Also try viewing it another browser.
