Using the Metro Pro theme; I've added a featured post to the Home Top widget. The image (cspan photo) is coded with a custom link, which works once the post is open.

But...I want the image link to work from the Home Top widget; if the image is clicked while in widget (Home Page) view, it opens the post, but not the custom image url.

Is there a way to enable the image's custom url from the Home Top widget?

    Thanks for your help.

There's no filter in the featured posts widget so you have to rewrite the widget.
