I don't see a more appropriate section than "General" for this -- sorry if I'm incorrect, and I will happily move this if so.
Is there a method or plugin that is suggested specifically by StudioPress for Genesis and its child themes? Obviously there are a huge number of options but frequently I find out with other issues that one method can be better suited to Genesis than another.
Would appreciate any input, even if the input is "Nope! Use the most stable one!"
Thanks,

KristaJune 9, 2016 at 5:14 pm #187276Cathy @ WPBaristaMemberI have not heard of any suggested plugin for that. Although Gravity Forms is suggested and that is what I use for anti-spam on forms and password obfuscation.
Hope that helps!

I need an actual email address obfuscator. Thanks for your reply/input!
June 9, 2016 at 7:52 pm #187300Cathy @ WPBaristaMemberTry this: http://www.hcidata.info/obfuscate-email-address.htm
But when people want email on their site, I usually type the name and use an a href="mailto... tag.
No problem - hope this helps!

Though generally, it's just not worth it to try; using a general email address to a gmail account is pretty darn good. Their filtering is excellent. Something like [email protected] often works really well.
June 10, 2016 at 7:34 am #187327kvmolinoMemberThanks everyone. My first path was javascript but it fought with the script of another plugin we're using, and my theme for some reason just will not take the code from something like http://www.hcidata.info/obfuscate-email-address.htm when I put it into the text tab. It simply rewrites it back to plain text every time I update the page. (This of course has been a common WP issue since the dawn of time ... there's a plugin that will force the code to stay in place but every additional plugin just leaves more room for trouble/error, IMHO.)
Anyhow with what I'm hearing I think I'll go back to the client and simply tell them they need to either use a contact form or a generic gmail address. I've suggested these before but client has resisted---it's a low paying gig so I think it's time to just put my foot down and say you do one of these two or you take your chances.
Thanks again!
