    Hi, I'm using the new Eleven40 Pro theme and would like to replace the site description area with an email signup box/area like Brian Gardner uses on his blog. Is there a simple way to accomplish this and still have it responsive?

    I'm not seeing an email signup box on Brian's blog. From your explanation though, my first idea would be to create a widget area in that space, use eNews extended to create the subscription box, and add some CSS, if necessary, to make sure my area is responsive.

    This route would probably not be considered simple, unfortunately!

    An alternative way that I just tried was to create a blog page snippet that would put page contents above a standard blog page. That way I can create a page with the newsletter signup content that I want and it will be displayed above a standard blog listing. I would just set this up as a static front page. Unfortunately, when I do this, the file is not full width, but it comes close to what I'm trying to accomplish. I'm trying to do a top page newsletter setup like Jeff Goins ( http://goinswriter.com ) or Jon Morrow ( http://boostblogtraffic.com/ ) have done. Any ideas would be appreciated.

    Both of your examples are using a widget area to insert their newsletter signups.

    If you want to go the page snippet route, could you use CSS to force the file to be full width?

    Is there a document available that shows how to add a widget area to an existing StudioPress template? I'm so close on this one. I just need a widget area under the header that will allow a page wide newsletter signup. I could modify the Generate theme, but it hasn't been updated yet. Any guidance would be appreciated.
