I've just installed Eleven40 Pro on a local install test site and I'm noticing a difference compared to the demo.
Flicking between the demo page and my install it appears the wrap div is narrower on the demo, yet the wrap, content and sidebar widths are the same, as is the padding/margins on both.
Also, the font is the same for both (Lora, 16px) yet on the demo it appears much crisper and better rendered. Where as on my install it appears less crisp and actually looks bigger (17px) even though it's not.
Is the demo 'tweaked' in some way for demo purposes?
If so, how do I acheive the same result, because the demo is much cleaner, crisper and better rendered than the actual download.
Cheers
September 1, 2013 at 4:32 pm #60109SusanModeratorAs far as the demo, it's not "tweaked" differently that what comes in the zip file, but without seeing your site, I can't provide any guidance.
September 2, 2013 at 5:28 am #60220dave_sParticipantAppreciate the reply, Susan.
There's definitely something which differs between the demo and what comes in the zip file, but for the life of me I can't figure out what.
Using firebug it appears the style sheet css is the same, but when you flick between the install and the demo page there's an obvious difference between widths and font rendering. The demo is much cleaner and sharper.
I'll submit a support ticket and see if they can shed any light on it.
September 6, 2013 at 6:37 am #61048dave_sParticipantWell, no response from the ticket support team!
September 6, 2013 at 8:32 am #61074SusanModeratorThat's unusual - if there is a reason they can't help you (because it's customization, for example), then they will respond and tell you that.
When you submitted your ticket, did you receive an acknowledgment that they had received your submission? If not, go ahead and re-submit. If you did receive an acknowledgement, go ahead and check your spam folder to make sure the reply didn't go there.
September 6, 2013 at 9:07 am #61083dave_sParticipantAppears Jennifer replied to my ticket. Just found it after signing into my IPs mail portal.
It wasn't marked as spam so I must have deleted it by mistake in Outlook.
Anyways, support system works..... my email reading skills appear broken..... order is restored.
September 6, 2013 at 9:17 am #61084SusanModerator🙂
So, did Jennifer tell you whether there is any difference between the demo, and what's in the zip file? Curious minds want to know!
September 7, 2013 at 9:11 am #61215dave_sParticipantSorry, Susan.
Jennifer was happy to help, but unless she can see my site her hands are tied. With it being on a local install it's not possible at the moment.
She suggested it could be a local install thing or that it may be worth re-downloading the zip.
If anyones got a spare test site on their server it might be worth taking a look to see if it's any different?
September 7, 2013 at 9:13 am #61216SusanModeratorDave - let me take a look this evening. I'll let you know when it's available for you to see on my demo 🙂
September 7, 2013 at 1:49 pm #61245dave_sParticipantHey Susan, that's really kind. Thank you.
Virtual Jaffa Cake winging its way over to you 🙂
September 7, 2013 at 6:07 pm #61288SusanModeratorDave:
Eleven40 PRO has been installed on one of my demo sites:
http://demo3.graphicallydesigning.com/
... and instead of the virtual Jaffa cakes, I'd love some real Cadbury's Dairy Milk chocolate - the stuff made over here under licence by Hershey's just sucks...
September 8, 2013 at 3:33 am #61324dave_sParticipantThanks so much, Susan.
Absolutely no difference between your demo site and the Genesis demo page. So definitely an issue with my local install.
Thanks for taking the time to help out, it's really appreciated 🙂
As for Cadbury's/Hershey.... isn't it ironic that some elements of government will do everything in their power to protect it's citizens from the evil of excessive cocoa content, yet fight tooth and nail for the right to have a cupboard full of assault rifles.
It's a funny old world 🙂
Nonetheless, huge great bar of Cadburys on its way.
September 8, 2013 at 6:16 am #61330SusanModeratorGlad that I could provide some insight.
Yeah, can't have the citizens eating too much sugar 😉
I'll close this as resolved.
