    Hello, the older version of Eleven40 had capability to add a home featured widget area.
    The instructions on how to set it up used to be here:
    http://www.briangardner.com/home-widget-area-eleven40/
    Now that page no longer exists.
    Is it still possible to have this widget area in the new Eleven40 theme? If so, are there instruction on how to set it up? (I've done some searching but can't find any)
    Many thanks,
    Tim

    Try this:

    Please copy ALL the code from the view raw link and paste it at the end of your child themes functions.php file using a text editor like Notepad++

    If you don't want the wrap, change these 2 lines of code:

    'before' => '<div class="after-entry widget-area">',
    'after'  => '</div>',

    Hi Brad,
    Thank you, very much appreciated - that's almost what I need 🙂

    Is it possible to get the featured widget area to display in the area that I have shaded in the linked screenshot, rather than going full width below the site description banner?

    I would like, if possible, to have the widget area sitting just above where my posts begin on the front page.

    I suspect that I need to alter the hook in the add_action php, but not quite sure if I'm on the right track.

    Any further tips?

    Thanks again,
    Tim
