    How can I make this:
    border-left: 1px solid #ddd;
    border-right: 1px solid #ddd;
    on the main.content go all the way to the bottom regardless of longer primary or secondary sidebars ?
    they only show up to the end of the main content if the sidebars are longer they don't keep showing.
    thanks

    Can you post a link to your site? It's much easier for us to help troubleshoot if we can see what you see.

    I am working on a site using the eleven40 child theme. When the primary sidebar content's length (height) exceeds the length (height) of the posts column, the vertical lines that define the left and right edges of the posts content are only as long as the posts content column. They should extend to the footer no longer based on the longest of the sidebars / posts content. See the problem here: http://www.lifesketchers.com.

    The next to the last sentence should read "They should extend to the footer with their length based on the longest of the sidebars / posts content."

    Oh, okay. I see what you're saying. The best way to do this is to add a border to the sidebar itself instead of the content area. So you'd do:

    .sidebar {
    border-left: 1px solid #ddd;
    }

    .sidebar-secondary {
    border-right: 1px solid #ddd;
    }

    Then you may want to remove the borders from .content since they'll make it thicker in the content area and thinner toward the bottom.
