These days, editing or adding new post has become a nightmare. In classic editor the upload media button does not work, preview does not work, and can't switch between visual and text editors. Not such a big deal, I can write posts in Notepad then paste in to block editor code editor and preview.
The big problem is the media upload, I can upload in block editor, but image caption does not style as it did before. previously my cations were centered in a gray box. Now they are left aligned, and no background color, they just look like any old text underneath the image. I found css which I can to customm css editor but now I can't find my custom css editor, I only see widgets in the "appearance" tab. Any thoughts please.

Hi Anita, I deactivated the classic editor plugin, cleared SG cache, cleared Sucuri cache, cleared browser history, and now "appearance" shows all items in the "customize" menu so I added ".wp-block-image figcaption {
text-align: center;
}"to the custom css, and now my captions are centered underneath the images, now I would just like to add a background color to the captions ??
I can't say I'm happy with the block editor but I guess I'm gonna have to live with it.
I have been having similar problems so I changed to Elementor Pro. Was the best thing to do, now I am not having the same problems, hope this helps.

But to know for sure what's going on, switch to the default WordPress theme (Twenty Twenty One). Then see if you still have issues with the editor. If you do, it's an issue with your WordPress install or hosting.
