I seem to be having trouble customizing the footer.
I've tried simple edits and custom hooks with no luck.
Any ideas ?

Hi Jack,

I guess you are not having any luck because Divine customizes the footer/credits in functions.php around line 202.
You can make your changes there or delete that whole section (which should allow Simple Edits or your hooks to work again).
