I'm transitioning my old HTML-coded site to WordPress, and have created Custom Posts for the 700+ whisky tasting notes that were previously hand-coded into the old site. I need to come up with a front-end page for them that would let users enter search terms with a combination of metadata and custom taxonomies., and I'm having problems figuring it out.

I have the name of the whisky as the title, along with the region it's from and the bottler as taxonomies. The ABV (proof) and my score for the whisky are in Custom Fields, and my tasting notes are in the text of the post.

In my fantasy world, I'd like to be able to let a user enter the name of a whisky (example: Laphroaig), and have all of my notes for various Laphroaig expressions come up. I'd like to let them search by region, and even enter the name of the bottler to get all bottlings from that company, and even let them give a range of scores ("show all whiskies 95 points and higher").

Is there a way to make this possible...or at least feasible?

    Thanks!

Honestly search is one of WordPress's biggest weaknesses right now in my opinion. There are some plugins that improve the basic WP search. One good one is Relevanssi. Here is their free version in the Plugin Directory: http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/relevanssi/

It sounds like you're going to want to use their premium version to get closer to your "fantasy world".
