How do I get the Blog page layout to look similar to the Journal page layout from the Digital Pro demo?

    1. I want a page title and additional text above the Blog posts.

    2. I want the overall layout (width of the content on the page) to be more like that, too. (I was able to handle that with CSS tweaks, but would prefer to go with what's already been created if possible).

So right now, with the tweaks I have something similar to this:
    https://demo.studiopress.com/digital/author/admin/

I'd like it to look like the Archive page (what you see in the demo for the Journal layout) instead:
    https://demo.studiopress.com/digital/category/journal/

    Reply from support about this:

You could create a category called 'blog' and then tag all your posts with that category. Then you can edit that category to add a title and content that will show at the top of that category page.

I also found this tutorial that you can try (you will want to make sure you are not selecting a static page with a post page under the customizers 'homepage settings', instead you can check the latest post): https://wpsites.net/web-design/add-content-before-posts-blog-page-only/

Any thoughts on those options? Thanks.

For the first option, that's a simple fix but I wouldn't want to have to have "category" in the URL heading to the blog.

    So instead of:
    http://www.mysite.com/category/blog/

    I'd want
    http://www.mysite.com/blog/

    Is that possible?

Worked up the widget option (using that tutorial combined with another one because I was getting errors), but would still like to know about the category option if anyone has thoughts on that. Thanks.
