    I'm researching this myself right now, but there are a lot of different answers out there, from editing functions.php, to advanced CSS tricks. Basically, what is the best way to achieve this:

    -Upload a high def (qhd or 4k) photo to be used in a post / elsewhere.
    -Use that same image, but for a thumbnail.

    I haven't looked at my code in a bit, but I'm using those images and they're scaled down, but loading as if they're the giant versions (10+ photos at 4k is a long load, and horrible for page speed). What's the most efficient way to go about this? Are there any complications with aspect ratio, cropping, etc?

    I've learned that you need to add the following to add the other sizes by default:

    add_theme_support( 'post-thumbnails' );

    I've also read that I can change the default thumbnail size, and define my own sizes. Is there a reason Genesis doesn't have the default (thumbnail, small, medium, full) sizes on by default? I think I'll implement a few sizes of my own until WordPress core adds some solutions for responsive images. If anyone has any better / related advice, please fill me in!

    Still looking for some info on this before I implement any dramatic changes. I think I can accomplish what I need for now (until a responsive solution is in core) with full size, and thumb, but I want to know if there's any reason not to define those sizes, as it's not in Genesis by default.
