I am trying to get the excerpts (if there is one on the post) to show up on the homepage. If there is no excerpt I'd like it to use the regular text from the post. How can I get the excerpts to show up?

Excerpts are showing fine on the homepage posts. If still need help, update this thread.

I know the excerpts are showing up but they are just using the first part of the post. I would like to change what the excerpts say to make my own custom wording.
