    I need to change the background color of one navigation menu item... any thoughts? I'm using the Education Theme. For example, I want one menu item to be orange and the others to remain the default color.

    This is what I added to the end of style.css; however, the color of the menu item does not change.

    .menu-primary .donateorange a { background:#f47529; }
    .menu-primary .donateorange a:hover { background:#f47529; }

    After adding CSS code, did you add "donateorange" to css class option in menu - see step 2 carefully here http://www.basicwp.com/menu-items-color-in-genesis/ (or watch video for visual demo)

    Yes I did add “donateorange” to css class option in menu.. but there was no change. Could there be some default setting overriding it?

    Just a thought, when you say added to the bottom of css file, did you add it below the Media Queries section? Make sure it is above the Media Queries section of the css or it will only work on smaller screens. Have a link to the site?

    I moved the code up above the Media Queries section, but still no change.

    Hi, I just tried doing this using the same method. I went to the menu area in the dashboard and added the css style. Then used the code in my child theme's style.css, and the colors don't change for me either. I'm using Streamline child theme. Is there a reason it might not work?

    Thanks!
