    Theme: Generate Pro

I'm using the Generate Pro theme and am trying to customize it. Should I create a child theme of Generate Pro which is already a child theme of Genesis?

    Thanks

You can't create a child theme of a child theme. That's not how WordPress works. Child themes are meant to be customized. You can always save a copy of the theme locally before you begin your customizations so you can start over again if you have to.

Yes I thought it would be an odd thing to have a child of a child--having created my own child themes. I suppose what I'm really trying to determine is whether Genesis child themes like Generate Pro (provided by Studio Press) have updates released that I'll need to implement that will delete my customizations.

But from what you say it sounds like I can safely customize Generate Pro.

The updates you are referring to would come to either WordPress (core) and/or Genesis Framework.

That is the point of the child themes, to allow changes/edits and not have to worry about them over-writting changes made when updates occur.

As @victorfont suggested you may want to save a copy of the child theme locally so you can start over if necessary.
