    I have always used older Studiopress themes and never had a problem customizing the contents of the footer before. However, for this site, I am using Essence Pro and I tried 3 different hacks (my own, which always worked for dozens of previous sites) and 2 suggested on Studiopress's own website and blog under Customize Footer. Nothing worked. In fact, the Studiopress suggestion prevented me from logging into my WordPress installation, until I restored the functions.php file to original. What am I doing wrong?

    BTW: I put all the changes to the file at the end of the current code on functions.php for the child theme. Please, please help. Thanks in advance.

    Have you tried this plugin ? -

    https://en-gb.wordpress.org/plugins/genesis-simple-edits/

    This will let you edit the footer without coding.

    Thanks for the reply, but I do not want to use a plugin for such a simple task. The fix should be easy, but I am missing something... I have 12 sites running Lifestyle Child Theme and I had no issues customizing the footer with text, images and other elements. Not sure why Essence Pro is being so difficult!

    What is that you want to achieve with the footer text and links ?

    If you tried code from Studiopress and you ended up with a broken site , did you make a mistake and miss this instruction ?

    <?php
    //* Do NOT include the opening php tag shown above. Copy the code shown below.

    I did the first time actually lol, but then I corrected it. I am going to code my own solution tomorrow. Hopefully, I can work it out and close this thread soon! Thanks for the reply. Time for bed for me.
