    Hello,

I am using the Mindstream child theme:
    http://demo.studiopress.com/mindstream/

Each post in this team places an image representing the post format for that particular post (more details here).

I like the concept, but I want to take it a step further. I probably won't be using post formats on my blog of Image, or Status, or Chat, so I was wondering if there was a way to modify these and re-purpose them to fit the use I have planned. Mostly, for me, this will mean to make them "look" like a regular "Standard" post (in so far as what is displayed - title, comments, categories, etc), but having a custom icon.

Alternatively, if its possible to create a new post format entirely and tweak all the attributes, that would be a viable solution for me as well.

How would I go about doing this? What file(s) would I have to modify to make this possible? Has anyone done this before on their blog that I can take a look to see an example of?

Bump. Can anyone help point me in the right direction?

I found the folder where the "post format" images are located, and can easily change the icon to look like what I need it. But I'm still not sure how to customize what gets displayed on the blog page (title, comments, categories, etc).
