The fancy dropdowns were working until yesterday. (just on the services and products tabs). Most of the changes to the site today were simply to content (both pages and widgets).

I do know that I updated to the latest version of Genesis to 1.9.1 in the past few days. But it wasn't in the past 24 hours, so that doesn't seem to be a likely issue.

I've sort of merged the styles of Agency and Metric child themes for this design, thus it was necessary for me to move some stuff around and create some new widgets.

I've tried disabling all plugins, with no change, and the only CSS issues are non-compliance things to do with the slider responsive stuff.

I'm stumped! Any ideas as to what the culprit could be? Is a script not loading?

Same problem here. I was notified by my client this morning of the drop down problem . I had not yet updated to 1.9.1  and had not touched the site for a number of days. Updating and disabling all plugins did not resolve it. http://www.bcrjp.org/

I built a client site using Production theme and Genesis v1.8.2 a couple of months ago, and it has fancy dropdowns.

I migrated the site to the clients site on Saturday 12 January using Genesis 1.9.1 and even though the fancy dropdowns box is ticked, it is not working.  Client is none too impressed, as it does not look the same as their test site did 🙂

I would love to find a rapid response to this issue please, as it is impacting on their mobile responsive site.

    Thanks

It appears something in your theme or a plug-in  is en-queuing  jQuery 1.9 - which no-longer supports  $. browser, so the superfish.js fails and breaks fancy menus.  An explanation and how I fixed my problem is here.

    http://www.studiopress.community/topic/superfish-broken-with-jquery-1-9

If you check with Chrome dev-tools you'll see an error triggers on superfish.js , then check the  resources tab and see what version of  jQuery is used if it's  1.9+ you will likly need to add the new jQuery Migrate plugin to your theme or stop using whatever plug-in is triggering the latest version of jQuery to enqueue.

    jstuartj is absolutely correct!

I actually had a function (which I'd been adding to all of my sites for a couple of years) which was supposed to correct any possible problems with jquery conflicts, and that bit of code was causing the problem. WP 3.5 is smart enough not to need that code now. When I realized I was having a jquery problem on another site, I knew it had to be something *I* was doing. Oddly, the kevinhungate.com site had been working, but as soon as I took that snippete of code out my dropdown menus came back.

Any other ideas if it is not an issue with a plugin? I deactivated all of my plugins and I still cannot get the dropdowns to work. I read jstuartj, post but I am not sure I want to dig in to stuff that much for fear of breaking something else. Will this possibly be fixed with an update?

Hi kylehufford, I didn't find a solution to the problem unfortunately.  I contacted the Studiopress helpdesk and got the response that there are issues with Android phones and fancy dropdowns, and that there was no immediate solution on the horizon.  Consequently I lost my client, along with 3 months worth of hard work and customisation.  They needed the website to be totally mobile responsive as they are a technology company.

I am really disappointed with this, but I guess that with all the different platforms available and software changes/updates that there is always going to be something that won't work properly at any given time.

Like you I did not have enough experience/knowledge to play around with the technical side of things as suggested by  jstuartj.  Hopefully for you there may be someone in this forum who can assist you with this.  Unfortunately too late for me.

Leanne, hook up with a WordPress user group. The  MSP WordPress google usergroup is a lifeline for me. If I have a complicated coding issue , I  post a request for consulting services. Usually someone steps up who can resolve my problem in an hour of their time. Much better  than racking my brains for hours or  losing a client.
