I have been using the framework for a few weeks now and I am very impressed. One thing that could be improved on (in my opinion)  is the way the navigation is handled under 800px. I would like to develop my sites using different navigation for smaller screen sizes. I used a Select widget from wordpress.org, it works fine and is really simple to use. I would however like to create navigation menu's like these: http://designshack.net/articles/css/code-a-responsive-navigation-menu/ or http://www.ejhansel.com/a-responsive-drop-down-navigation-menu/ . I believe Genesis 2 will have more options for styling mobile navigation when it comes out mid 2013, but I would like to try adding my own navigation sooner. Has any body had any luck styling the navigation differently for screens under 800px? If so, can you link to any good resources that have worked please? That would be super fantastic.

Are you wanting to have a completely different menu, or just style the same links differently?

If the former, you'll want to use meta tags to detect screen size and forward to a mobile version of the site.

If the latter, you can use media queries. Most, if not all, of the StudioPress themes use media queries for mobile responsiveness. You could always just use those as a baseline, since they'll be using similar divs, and customize from there.

Generally, the second method is viewed as the better approach.
