    Hello,

    I'm totally new to Genesis and not had much experience of theme development so bear with me please!

    I'm using the Magazine Pro child theme.

    I'm setting up a new site and created a new custom post type.

    Now I want to create a page that lists all those custom post types, like you would when you create a page called 'blog' with the regular post type.

    I created a copy of the page.php from the Genesis directory, and was going to add this line to it:
    <?php query_posts( 'post_type=games'); ?>

    but the file didn't really contain anything apart from genesis();

    Can anyone give me some pointers on where to find the right file to use as my template for displaying the new post type?

    Thanks

    Totally new to Genesis modifications and barely competent in theme development in general.

    You don't need to create a template for the archive listing. When you created the custom post type as long as you set the:

        'has_archive'        => true,
        'rewrite'            => array( 'slug' => 'games' ),

    Then just visit the permalinks page to activate the new custom post type - Dashboard>Settings>Permalinks

    Then go to http://mydomain.com/games/ and you should see the archive listing of all the posts of that CPT.
