MemberHello,
I'm a book editor with enough WordPress skills to make my way around a site or two. I'm helping a self-publishing client set up a new website, and I have a question.
She absolutely loves the look of this site: http://www.henerypress.com.
I'm trying to figure out if we can do something similar (she knows we can't duplicate the look of the Henery site) starting with a theme. I've used enough Genesis themes to know they're my first preference.
Would it be possible for someone who knows what they're doing to customize Modern Portfolio so the images on the home page were of varying sizes?
Or, would the Design Palette Pro allow us to customize a Modern Portfolio Pro theme? Is this a possible option?
My client doesn't currently have a website, therefore I have not included any other URL.
Thank you.

MemberHi dkrause!
Well the given website is using Visual composer and creating custom rows and assign widgets to each row or add custom content.
And yes Design Palette Pro support following child themes.
- Beautiful Pro
- Daily Dish Pro
- eleven40 Pro
- Executive Pro
- Lifestyle Pro
- Metro Pro
- Minimum Pro
- Modern Portfolio Pro
- News Pro
- Outreach Pro
thank you,

MemberHi RitzyThemes,
Thank you so much for the reply. And wow -- thank you most of all for mentioning Visual Composer. This is new to me, and I had no idea. But that's the exact solution I need for my client, because it would allow us to create a similar look for her site. I'm going to spend some time today exploring it further, but I do think that might be the solution I'm looking for. And it's less expensive than Design Palette Pro.
One follow-up question: If I plan to use Visual Composer, does it matter what theme I start with? I'm not sure I fully grasp how the custom layout designed with VC overrides the theme design. The VC website says it can be used with any WordPress theme, so I suppose the answer to my question is that no, it doesn't matter. But if you have any advice on a starter theme to use with VC, I'm all ears.
Thank you!!

MemberHi dkrause!
Its nice to know that i was helpful for you, Well Visual Composer is a complete package and you can use it almost on every wordpress based theme and this tool supports Genesis and Genesis Child Themes Perfectly. You can create multiple rows and do whatever you like to do, there are few more composers are available but they don't have too much functionality compared to VC.
I am going to launch my website sooner and going to give my users ability to use Aqua Page Builder to build pages according to their need.
Cheers 🙂

MemberDKrause,
I was wondering if you finally got it all working with Genesis and Visual Composer.
Currently, I have a similar question from one of my clients, and have looked at VC but was not able to get specific widgets in the different areas. At the moment I've created a similar design using Genesis Extender from Cobalt Apps (see: http://mgf.woohoodesign.nl).
Would you share your thoughts on using VC in combination with Genesis? -
