Creating a Archive Page for a Custom Post Type with Custom Excerpt?

Two Questions: Creating an Archive Page/Template for a CPT & Displaying a Custom Excerpt in that page/template

I created a custom post type (called games) using the Types plugin.

Now I want to create an archive page template just for that custom post type.

I was reading a tutorial and it said to copy your themes archive.php file, and rename that and use it as a base to work from, but my child theme (Magazine Pro) or Genesis don't seem to have one.

I see there is a page_archive.php file in Genesis, is that what I should use? If so do I copy and rename it page_archive-games.php

Question Two:
On that archive page I want to display an image from the post, and also some custom text that isn't actually in the post itself.

I guess this could be pulled from a custom field or the Excerpt field/box on the post editor screen?

Would it be possible to display this text on the archive page with an image from the post?

Any pointers would be much appreciated!

Is there a way to display the HTML of the post excerpt on an archives page without having to enter the content again in the excerpts meta box?

I don't mind manually adding the <!--more--> tag if necessary.
