    Hi all,

I'm using Showcase Pro theme, and I'm using Genesis Featured Posts widget in a front page widget area (thirds). When using Show Content Limit, is there was a way to create custom button text that checks a pageID (or similar) to generate different text output?

Website I'm currently working on is here: http://2019impact.brianandkrista.com/

I'm hoping to change the style of button and wording to something like what is featured in the third area here: https://https://2018.tyndaleimpact.ca/

Thanks for any help or guidance!

You have chose to use Posts in that area instead of Pages. If you use Pages and a Featured Page widget for each one, you can change the text in the widget itself.

Hi Anita, appreciate the feedback! When I use pages instead of posts, the theme won't set the widgets to 1/3 or center properly. It also looks like the Read More button might be hardcoded to say "Continue Reading"; it's definately not picking up my version of text.

When you are using the Featured Posts widget all of the posts will have "Continue Reading" or whatever text you want. If you want to have different text for those Read Mores on each one - you cannot do that. So you need to use pages.

You can use the Genesis Widget Column Classes to add the Pages to that area - https://wordpress.org/plugins/genesis-widget-column-classes/. Then if they are off a little bit, you can easily fix it with CSS. Then you can set a custom Read More for each of the three.

Another option is to rewrite the widgets PHP function and use code like this to display your featured posts in columns.
