    I just edited my functions.php file to get rid of categories under the posts.  Now the site http://socalstandup.com/ is showing a grey and black line under each post and they aren't in the best spots.  Also, I counted the characters.  The first post has over 400 characters and the most recent post has less then 400, that post has [...] as if it has gone past the character limit.  Why would that one have that but not the first post?  And where did those grey lines come from?  Thanks!!!!

    You can get rid of the gray and black lines (the black lines look wrong on their own) by deleting or commenting out the following lines from your style.css

    This line:

    .post-wrap {
        border-bottom: 5px solid #23211F; // Delete or comment out this line
    }

    And the first line here:

    .page .page, .post {
        border-bottom: 5px solid #898989; // Delete or comment out this line
        margin: 0;
        padding: 0;
    }

    Thanks...  Why is it that the character count is higher on one post than another though?

    Appreciate it

    Sorry to bump this, but I haven't had a chance to work on it in the past 8 days and I think it got lost in the mix.  Why would one post show 300 something characters and the next show 400 something characters?  They both have over 400.  I'd like to specify how many characters for each post.  It looks uneven.  Also, how can I add a <Read More> link at the end of the excerpt, rather than just a [...] that doesn't lead anywhere?

    Thanks!

    Also, I found this...  http://www.wpsquare.com/customize-genesis-post-excerpts/

    I added both those codes to the functions.php file and it now shows the right number of characters but it does not say <READ MORE> after the excerpt.  That's what I'd like to fix.

    Actually, after putting those 2 codes in the functions.php file, it does not seem to be putting the number of characters I set and also no read more link.  Thought the characters did work because one post did get longer.  But I just changed the number from 340 to 300 and nothing happened..   Confused.

    Thanks
