Changing the background color on Call to Action box an and Footer widget box

I'm using the Executive child theme and would like to change the color of the background to the Call to Action box/widget and to the Footer widgets. I have changed the hex code to many child themes before but this time I am have a lot of difficulty making CSS changes to this theme.
Suggestions??

Sridhar, using your code I located the place in the style sheet code. It is the same place that I tried to change the hex code before with no success. I have tried numerous times--no change happens.

Other suggestions or more details if I misunderstood what you suggested.

Thank you it is changed in the Call to Action box. I forgot to clear the cache. You could probably see the change all along but I could not.
However I can't seem to get the footer widget wrap area changed. I have replace the hex code and saved. Cleared the cache but still no change here is the code that I changed:

/* Footer Widgets

#footer-widgets {
background-color: #color: #006493;
color: #c8c8c8;
clear: both;
font-size: 14px;
overflow: hidden;
width: 100%;
}

I also changed this because the above color #006493; did not display. Clearly, I am missing something or have changed code that I shouldn't have when I was having so much difficulty yesterday:

/* Body
------------------------------------------------------------ */

body {
background-color: #f2f2f2;
}

::-moz-selection {
background-color: #006493;
color: #fff;
}

::selection {
background-color: #006493;
color: #fff;
}

Any suggestions?
