I'm not sure if this is a Genesis question or an Agency question or just a WordPress question.  In one of my categories, the blogposts are newest to oldest order and I'd like to change it to oldest first to newest order.  Not seeing an option for this, is there some code to do it easily?

    Thanks,

    Adam

    Try this plug-in:

    http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/default-sort-ascend/

or, you can code it by following this tutorial: http://billerickson.net/customize-the-wordpress-query/

Susan, the plugin seems to be a global one, I only want to change the order in that one category page.  Do you know if it can do that?

I'll check the tutorial though same question, global or localized?

    Thanks,

    Adam

I believe the plug-in is global.

Code can be written to limit it to the one category, but I believe you would need to experiment with Bill's tutorial (with the note that I can provide snippets and point you in the direction of code, but I'm not a developer...)

I'm thinking this should work, I can't test it at the moment, but give it a try.

You will need to create a new file in the child theme folder with the code in it and changed accordingly.

This would yield a different url but one method would be to create a page and then assign the blog template to that page. Next you would create a custom field in that page with the name of query_args. The value of that custom field would be something like cat=x&orderby=date&order=ASC

x = the ID of the category
