    I copied over the sample child theme and made some modifications.  The theme width is currently 960 pixels wide, and I would like to change that to 900 pixels wide.  Please help.

    Change 960px in following code in your style.css to 900px

    #wrap {
    background-color: #fff;
    box-shadow: 0 0 5px #999;
    margin: 15px auto;
    width: 960px;
    padding: 0;
    }

    Changed it, no effect.

    /* Wrap ------------------------------------------------------------ */

    #wrap {  background-color: #fff;

    margin: 0 auto;

    width: 900px; }

    There are 9 more places where you need to change width setting from 960 to 900px. I have modified it, you can grab the final css code for 900px width from here - http://pastebin.com/PzXCRt5Y
