    Hello everyone. I usually can poke around inspecting elements to learn how to change things but I'm struggling with a couple aspects of my site.

    1. I would like the sidebar on my blog page to take up less room. It looks like it has a ridiculous amount of padding built in automatically and it crowds out my actual posts too much. However, I cannot find the padding levels when I inspect. Where can I find them so that I can adjust how much space is used in between elements?

    2. Similar issue, I'd like to be able to make my input boxes smaller. They also seem huge to me. Where can I change the size of the input boxes on my website--like the search box and the email sign-up box?

    Thanks in advance.

    Hi Dan,

    You need to change the styling in your child theme style.css file.

    In your style.css, change the width for main content and sidebar.
    Try this,

    .content{
    float: left;
    width: 800px;
    }
    .sidebar {
    float: right;
    width: 260px;
    }

    And to decrease the size of input fields, use this CSS

    input, select, textarea{
    padding:6px 16px;
    }

    Thanks WisdmLabs. Actually, I don't mind the actual width the main content or the sidebar, it's more about the unused space. There's about a full inch gap between content and sidebar and another big gap between the sidebar and the edge of the screen.

    I assume it's a padding issue but I could have no idea what I'm talking about.
