    Anyone know off hand how to change the background color of a comment by the author of a post (or better yet, a site administrator)?

    I tried 

    .bypostauthor {
background-color: COLOR CHOICE
}

    but it does not seem to be doing the trick.

    Add this to your style.css file

    .comment-author-admin {
background: #ddd !important;
}

    You can change ddd color code to any color of your choice

background-color: #ddd !important;
}

    Thanks guys!

    One question though: This css code will also change the background color for any *nested* comments (replies to the post autor's comments). Is there any way around this? I would like for those to appear with the standard background.
