Can you specific which widget area - you want to change background color? As such, you can modify background color from style.css file.

hi, i want to change two colors:
    1. the dramatic bars of black background in a couple widgets in my home page. (from black to the gold color that matches my logo
    and
    2. the background color of the forms in the sidebar widget and the menu bar (from grey to white)

    thanks

Checked your website, looks like your implemented those changes. If still issues, update this thread.
