    I want to make a full width image on the first home widget only. I know I can change that by changing the background with an image or color, but I do not want to change any other areas or display that image anywhere else on the site: Just in the first home widget.

    I am changing my sites from parallax to centric. Thanks in advance.

    Why has this not been answered?!

    Try changing the max-width amount in .home-featured .wrap from this:

    .home-featured .wrap {
    margin-top: -160px;
    max-width: 782px;
    display: table;
    text-align: center;
    }

    to this:

    .home-featured .wrap {
    margin-top: -160px;
    max-width: 1280px;
    display: table;
    text-align: center;
    }

    Let me know if this helps. I don't know if this is the best way but it seems to work.

    I want to do the same thing - have a background image in the background of the top widget. The issue I have is that when I add it in the background the positioning is off and it doesn't resize responsively.

    I also want to write some text in the widget area and position it. Trouble is the text position is relative but the background image isn't - making it a mess.

    Anyone got any bright ideas about the best way to achieve what I'm trying to do?
