A couple of posts mention this, but I cannot find the precise solutions.

How to create a home page with:
    1. a full viewport width img,

    2. no padding between the img and navigation bar,

    3. padding at the bottom of the page (img does not extend to full viewport height)

**NOTE** The idea is to the img (SmugMug) rather than store it on the server.

Would this same solution apply to other themes?

There is no working site to link to: I am attempting to build it as I type.

    Thanks

For full width homepage, you can make a custom template and use add_filter( 'genesis_pre_get_option_site_layout', '__genesis_return_full_width_content' ); for forcing full width on the page.

Rest of the needs can be easily be handled by css customizations. For SmugMug integration you can use - https://wordpress.org/plugins/smugmug-embed/

I make WordPress websites using Genesis Framework.
